Reporting to the Practicum Officer, the faculty advisor will be responsible for supervising teacher candidates during the practicum as assigned. The faculty advisor will consult with and provide support to teacher candidates and associate teachers during the practicum. The faculty advisor will act as a liaison between the teacher candidate/associate teacher/principal and the Practicum Office at Nipissing University. The faculty advisor may be required to attend on-campus/virtual meeting(s).

Faculty advisors must live within the geographic boundaries of the school boards in which they supervise. Currently, the Schulich School of Education is looking for a qualified candidate in the following area: 

  • One position – Supervision of teacher candidates in Near North District School Board and Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic District School Board
  • One position- Supervision of teacher candidates in Peel District School Board and Dufferin Peel Catholic District School Board
  • One position- Supervision of teacher candidates in Ottawa Carleton District School Board and Ottawa Catholic School Board
  • One position- Supervision of teacher candidates in Greater Essex County District School Board, Windsor Essex Catholic District School Board, Lambton Kent District School Board, St. Clair Catholic District School Board
  • One position- Supervision of teacher candidates in Rainbow District School Board, Sudbury Catholic District School Board
  • One position- Supervision of teacher candidates in District School Board Ontario Northeast and Northeastern Catholic District School Board
  • One position- Supervision of teacher candidates in Limestone District School Board, Algonquin Lakeshore Catholic District School Board, Hastings Prince Edward Catholic District School Board (Belleville area)
  • One position- Supervision of teacher candidates in Avon Maitland District School Board, Huron Perth Catholic District School Board
